The BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has yet to impact Florida beaches, and looks like it won't have any effect on metal detecting or beach finds

According to the latest predictions, the gulf current will be moving most of the oil spill away from Florida beaches.

So far, there are no signs of oil (except the suntan variety), on any of Florida's beaches, and the beach crowds are still out in force.

This is good news for the environment, for beach goes, and for those of us that metal detect the beaches daily
